Baylor is getting some reinforcements for the 2018 season from the Southeastern Conference as the Bears are getting three players from the conference highlighted by Auburn’s starting catcher Carlee Wallace Baylor announced on Monday.

Wallace comes to Baylor after three seasons where she was an All-SEC and two-time All-Region catcher in her three seasons with the Tigers is coming off her best season where as a  junior Wallace led the Tigers with .599 slugging and .464 on-base percentage.Wallace was in the top-15 SEC finish in batting average (.333), slugging, and on-base. Wallace led the SEC in doubles with 20,  which was good for third in the nation.

Wallace was part of two Women’s College World Series appearances in 2015 and 2016 will join the Bears program that is coming off a trip to the WCWS.

Joining Wallace at Baylor will be pitcher Regan Green who pitched for two seasons at Mississippi State going  11-6 with 1.85 era in her career as well as middle infielder Nicky Dawson who comes over after one season at LSU.

Dawson played in 38 games in 2017 for the Tigers starting 13 of them. Had 9 steals in 10 attempts. Dawson should fit in Baylor’s Head Coach Glenn Moore offense which likes to showcase small ball and help make up some of the speed it loses in the graduation of  All-American Lindsey Cargill who led the team with 34 steals.

Green hopes to get more opportunities pitching at Baylor and will add depth the Bears staff which will have to replace Kelsee Selmon who transferred from LSU two years ago and went 24-9 with 1.86 ERA in her senior season.

“We are very excited about the addition of these three student-athletes,” Moore said in Baylor Press Release. “All three will contribute in the 2018 season, giving us great experience and quality depth.
