LOUISVILLE, Ky.Campbell graduates Brittany Arnn (Danville, Va.) and Sarah Forgacs (Cary, N.C.), senior Shaela Churchill (Winterville, N.C.) and Katie Andrews (Wilmington, Del.) and sophomore Kailey Farmer (Durham, N.C.) were announced as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar-Athletes on Monday.

“Academic success leading toward a graduate degree is a primary focus of our softball program,” said head coach Drew Peterson. “Clearly these ladies have worked very hard to balance their academic careers along with their athletic endeavors. It is gratifying to see these student athletes succeed and represent God, their families and the university so well.”

The Camels were named as an NFCA All-Academic team for posting a 3.04 grade-point average as a team. Each of the five student-athletes honored registered at least a 3.50 grade-point average during the 2012-13 academic year.

Arnn compiled a 3.75 g.p.a. during the academic year, while tallying a 2.72 ERA and 6-9 mark. A .276 avg. with 31 RBI was registered by Forgacs, who posted a 3.71 g.pa.

Splitting time at second base was Churchill, notching a .231 avg. and 4.00 g.p.a. Both Andrews and Farmer contributed off the bench and registered 3.52 and 3.69 g.p.a., respectively.

In 2012-13, Campbell went 39-21 and finished second in the Big South standings at 18-6. The Camels graduated two players from that squad in Arnn and Forgacs and return eight starters including Big South Freshman of the Year Courtney Klinger (Alvin, Texas).
