Arizona State softball coach Clint Myers accepted an offer for the same position at Auburn on Friday.
“I wanted you to know that the Myers family has decided to make a move. I have been named the new head softball coach for the Auburn Tigers,” Myers said in a statement. “This was a family decision … the reason being, my sons will be coaching with me at this new position. I am thrilled that in the final years of my coaching career that I will be able to mentor and help my sons to start their own college coaching careers.”
Auburn parted with coach Tina Deese last month after leading the program since its inception in 1996. The Tigers did not qualify for the 64-team NCAA tournament this past season after going 30-23, including 7-17 against the SEC.
