Player of the Week

Jordan Seneca

St. Francis

Seneca became just the 11th player in NCAA history to hit two grand slams in the same game, accounting for the first eight Saint Francis runs in a 12-10 extra inning win over Texas Tech. She homered in the next contest at Texas Tech to open the scoring. In four games she went 4-for-9 (.444) with three home runs and 10 rbi. After her magnificent display in the opener, teams stopped pitching to her. She walked seven times in four games to record a .688 on-base percentage while scoring a team-high six runs.

Jess Andree (Belmont): Andree hit .444 with four runs, three home runs and 10 RBI as Belmont went 4-1 last week in the Mercer Bears Classic. In the 10-inning win against Mercer, she became the 12th player in NCAA history to hit two grand slams in a game. Andree went .500 on the first day of the tournament, going 3-for-6 with a home run and a pair of RBI in two games. She finished the weekend with a .944 slugging percentage.

Taylor Uden (Indiana): Uden hit an impressive .727 during the Hoosier Classic, which saw the first baseman knock two homers and four doubles with a 1.636 slugging percentage and .813 on-base percentage. In addition, Uden scored five runs, picked up five RBI and earned four walks while tallying 18 total bases.

Pitcher of the Week

Megan Betsa

Michigan

Megan Betsa tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts over the Wolverines’ home series against Kent State, including a 17-strikeout no-hitter in the series opener. It was her fourth career no-hitter and a career-best strikeout tally — just two shy of the Michigan program single-game record. She followed it up with a 13-strikeout one-hitter in the series finale.

Kaylee Carlson (Auburn): Carlson tossed the second perfect game and the 23rd no-hitter in program history Saturday against Ohio State. She joined Holly Currie (2005) as the only two pitchers to reach perfection in an Auburn uniform. She was 2-0 on the weekend.

Jessica Burroughs (Florida State): Burroughs was lights out again this week. She posted a 3-0 record throwing 18 innings. In her three appearances, she racked up 41 strikeouts and allowed just one earned run resulting in a 0.50 ERA.
