The Idaho State Softball team will play five games this fall including a game this Sunday afternoon against Boise State at Miller Ranch Stadium.
The returning Big Sky Champions will face three teams at Miller Ranch Stadium and two on the road.
Along with BSU, the Bengals will play Blue Mountain Community College, located in Pendleton, Ore. on Oct. 5th in Pocatello. The Bengals will close out their fall season with a home game against the College of Southern Idaho on Oct. 11th.
ISU also faces the College of Idaho in Boise at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 29th. The game is the first of two games that day. The Bengals will face BSU immediately following their game with the Yotes.
Head coach Julie Wright is excited about the fall season and the development it provides for her young team.
“The fall season is really important to the success of our team in the spring,” Wright said. “Playing a fall schedule puts the team in situations that help them work on communication and execution at a much faster pace than we can create in practice.”
Another benefit of the fall is the opportunity to see what the team will need to improve before the season starts in early spring.
“These games allow our coaching staff to get a glimpse of the strengths and weaknesses of the team,” Wright said. “As we move through our off-season, we will use this knowledge to help better prepare us for opening day in February.”
