MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin softball coach Donley Canary has announced that the 2013 Fall Softball Classic has been cancelled with the threat of imminent weather on the horizon.
Due to heavy rains expected to hit the Martin area Friday afternoon, changes to the Fall Softball Classic have been made with the threat of severe playing conditions at the Martin Parks and Recreation Complex.
With the cancellation of the tournament, the Skyhawks have shuffled their fall slate to include a tripleheader against Bethel University on Saturday, Sept. 21. Action from Bettye Giles Field is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
Weather permitting, UT Martin will cap off their fall schedule by hosting a doubleheader against Three Rivers Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Skyhawks and Lady Raiders are slated to begin the twinbill at 3 p.m.
