In the Circle: Karen Weekly talks Vols Softball, NFCA and Early Recruiting

On this edition of In The Circle, Tennessee Co-Head Coach Karen Weekly talks about the upcoming Lady Vols 2018 season as well as the Division I Coaches taking a stand against early recruiting.

Weekly who is entering her 17th season as Co-Head Coach along with her husband Ralph Weekly talks about the high expectations in 2018. The Vols have a lot of experience coming back from 2017 season including in the circle with Caylan Arnold who became just the fourth player in program history to be named SEC Freshman of the year and Matty Moss who in her sophomore season 2017 had 26 wins and earned All-SEC second team honors.

Weekly also discussed her SEC Player of the Year shortstop Meghan Gregg who broke the school record with 79 RBIs in 2017 and was a Top three College Softball Player of the Year finalist.

Weekly who in her first year as NFCA President talks about the coaches taking a stand against early recruiting and what is ahead in that battle to get the rule passed by the NCAA. Voting will take place in April. Weekly also talks about being inducted into the NFCA Hall of Fame in December at NFCA Convention that will take place in Chicago.
