The dust has settled and four more teams are headed to Oklahoma City, OK, and the 2017 WCWS.

LSU Triumphs

LSU was led by senior catcher Sahvanna Jaquish who drove in four runs.Carley Hoover entered in relief to hold off No. 4-seed Florida State and secure a 6-4 win. The result is that LSU advanced to the Women’s College World Series for the third-straight season, on Sunday afternoon. This is the sixth time in school history and the fourth under head coach Beth Torina. With the victory, LSU extended its streak to 10-straight wins in elimination games during the NCAA Regional and Super Regional. It was the 15th win facing elimination over the past three seasons. No other team has more than eight. “It has nothing to do with me it has everything to do with the players sitting next to me and the players who have worn this uniform,” Torina said. “I just write a lineup every day, these guys are the ones who go out and play ball. They are the ones who continue to write the history of this program. I took over a fantastic program.

Big Bats Propel Texas A&M into WCWS

The Texas A&M softball team earned a trip to the Women’s College World Series with a 5-3 victory at Tennessee Sunday. The Aggies will make their eighth appearance at the WCWS and their first since going back-to-back in 2007 and 2008. Trinity Harrington earned the win throwing a six-hit complete game, giving up three runs, two earned and a strikeout. Matty Moss suffered the loss, giving up five runs, one earned with three walks in 4.0 innings of work. Head Coach Jo Evans on her Pitcher “I thought Trinity Harrington was terrific. She pitched yesterday, and I thought she did very well. We didn’t get outs all the time when we could have for her. She seemed like our best matchup coming into today. She hasn’t thrown two games in a row in a long time. She showed really great stamina, especially after going home to Colorado for a while. I thought she showed great composure and poise on the mound and gave us a chance to get outs. Early on when we couldn’t get outs, she could have easily gotten frustrated and felt like she would have to strike people out because we weren’t making plays. Instead, she stayed patient with us. She kept doing what she does. I’m proud of her because she showed a lot of heart, and I thought her team really stepped up.”

Baylor Fights Back

For the second straight day, Baylor softball’s “never surrender” philosophy helped the 15th-seeded Lady Bears erase a two-run deficit to beat second-seeded Arizona, 6-5, on Shelby McGlaun’s towering three-run homer that cleared the batter’s eye beyond the wall in center field. With the win in the decisive Game 3, Baylor advances to the Women’s College World Series for the third time in the last seven years and fourth time overall. “I couldn’t be prouder of this group of girls, the toughest team I’ve ever coached in over 20 years of coaching,” said coach Glenn Moore, who also picked up his 700th win in 17 years at Baylor. “They never quit. They show up to play every time, and they were rewarded in a big way today against a great team – a great program that many people thought could have won it all this year.”

Washington Holds off Utah

Washington punched its ticket to the Women’s College World Series with a 2-1 victory over 11th seeded Utah on Sunday. Taran Alvelo (32-7) earned the win, striking out three batters in the Huskies’ final game of the Super Regional. Washington had three hits on the night, two from Kirstyn Thomas and one from Ali Aguilar.
