GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Pitt’s Maggie Sevilla has been named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, while Lacey Waldrop earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Florida State’s Waldrop shut down opponents in the circle last week, as she posted her third no-hitter of 2014 on her way to a 3-0 week against Florida A&M and at North Carolina. Waldrop tossed 16.1 innings over the three games and allowed only five hits, one run and five walks while posting 25 strikeouts. The junior from Chester, Va., allowed opponents to bat only .094 against her for the week. For the season, Waldrop boasts a 21-2 record to go along with an ERA of 0.56. Waldrop has now earned conference weekly honors a record six times, breaking the previous mark of five held by Georgia Tech’s Jen Yee and NC State’s Emily Weiman.

Pitt’s Sevilla led the Panthers to a 3-1 record last week that included a three-game sweep against Virginia. For the week, Sevilla went 8-for-14 (.571) at the plate and had three home runs, nine RBI and six runs. Sevilla’s hot hitting was fueled by home runs in three consecutive games. The highlight of the week for the sophomore from San Diego was a 3-for-4 performance against the Cavaliers that saw her collect three hits, three RBI and a two-run home run in a 9-4 victory. In ACC play, Sevilla is batting .542 (13-for-24).
