For the fifth time this season, Tulsa senior RHP Aimee Creger has been named C-USA Pitcher of the Week, this time after earning two wins and a save at UTSA. The C-USA Player of the Week award went to UAB senior IF Kristen McGrath, who batted .600 and drove in 11 runs in five games last week.

Pitcher of the Week – Aimee Creger, Tulsa, Sr., Yukon, Okla.
Creger earned two wins and a save while posting a 0.38 ERA to lead Tulsa to a road sweep at UTSA over the weekend. She struck out 29 batters in 18.2 innings, and allowed four hits and one run with seven walks. In the series finale on Saturday Creger went the distance, pitching all 11.0 innings to hold off the Roadrunners in the 2-1 Golden Hurricane victory. She struck out 16 batters and allowed just two hits in the contest, and did not allow a runner past first base after the fifth inning. In game one Friday she tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters. In game two, Creger picked up her first save of the season, entering the game with a one run lead in the bottom of the seventh and striking out the only two batters she faced to preserve the win. This marks the 13th time in Creger’s career that she has been named C-USA Pitcher of the Week.

Player of the Week – Kristen McGrath, UAB, Sr., Tampa, Fla.
McGrath made the most of her final home games at UAB, finishing with 11 RBI as UAB went 4-1 last week. The senior from Tampa, Fla., hit .600 (9-for-15) over the week’s five games, with one double, two home runs and three runs scored. McGrath slugged at a 1.067 clip and finished with three RBI in back-to-back-to-back games against Kennesaw State and Charlotte. In game one of the doubleheader against KSU, she finished with two RBI on three hits and followed that up with a three-RBI game in game two of the twin bill, including a home run. In Friday night’s game one of the doubleheader against Charlotte, she launched a two-run shot and finished with three RBI in both games to lead the Blazers to two, five-inning, 8-0 run-rule defeats over the 49ers. This is McGrath’s first award this season and the second of her career.
