An exciting young team, Vipers Kyser played a tough summer schedule against some of the nation’s best competition. “As for last summer the team just continually improved from day one. Our biggest challenge was having a couple of key players banged up. as they got healthy the team took off,” said Rick Nash with the Vipers’ organization.

Notable finishes include 9th place at Triple Crown Nationals and 25th in the Colorado Sparkler power pool were the Vipers collected big victories over teams such as Firecrackers Lutterloh/King, Atlanta Vipers McDermott, and Aces Express. At Triple Crown Kyser’s team battled, playing four consecutive games (full 7 inning games) on the elimination day. Nash said the best part of the Triple Crown tournament, “was seeing teams we rarely see and watching our team finally playing as close to healthy as they had all season.”

This is a well-balanced, offensively powerful team that is turning heads on the recruiting and camp trail. Birmingham Vipers Kyser is definitely a program to keep a close eye on over the coming seasons. This Vipers’ team will be coached by Jeff Gillespie, long time head of the Vipers organization. Nash shared, “Danny Kyser will not be continuing as our head coach by his choice. His daughter is one of the best catchers in her class and he thinks it would be better for her future to have another HC.” Gillespie is a knowledgeable and successful coach who Nash said, “will also give our girls the experience of playing for a college level coach and the benefits of this along with his contacts in the college world.”
