Colgate Hires Marissa Lamison-Myers to Be Head Coach

Colgate announced on Thursday that they have hired Marissa Lamison-Myers as the Raiders’ head softball coach replacing Melissa Finley who resigned on July 14th to accept the job as Head Coach at  Division III program Swarthmore College.

Lamison-Myers is familiar with Colgate and the Patriot League Conference as Myers spent the last 4 years at Bucknell as the top assistant to Bonnie Skrenta and Courtnay Foster.  Foster recently step down as Head Coach at Bucknell back on July 10.

Prior to her time with the Bison, Lamison-Myers was a member of a national championship coaching staff at Tufts where she helped lead the Jumbos to the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship.  Lamison-Myers was part of Tufts back-to-back NESCAC titles as well as regional championships. Tufts earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament during both of Lamison-Myers years with the team, finishing fifth in 2012 before winning the national championship in 2013. Lamison-Myers was a member of the staff that was selected as the NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2013 and Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2012 and 2013.

Lamison-Myers takes over Colgate team that is coming off a 13-30 season finishing in last place in the Patriot League with 3-15 conference record. Lamison-Myers hire is the second one of the week in the conference as Lafayette hired Caitlyn De La Haba on Monday who had spent her prior two seasons at George Mason as an assistant.
