RUSTON, LA. — Louisiana Tech pitcher/shortstop and Cross Roads resident Anna Cross was named the Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year this past season.
The voting was done off the stats generated by players in WAC-only games.
Cross became the first Lady Techster to ever garner Freshman of the Year honors in the WAC following a rookie season that saw her succeed at both the plate and in the circle for LA Tech. The Cross Roads native batted .367 with five doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI in WAC-only games while scoring 13 runs and registering four steals.
