LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eleven University of Tennessee at Martin softball players have been tabbed as 2012-13 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athletes, the Association announced today.

The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year. The honor marks the second component of the Association’s academic award program. Back in late September the squads with the highest GPAs in each membership category were recognized as 2013 NFCA Top Ten All-Academic Teams. UT Martin finished ninth with a team GPA of 3.5.

UT Martin had three student-athletes who maintained perfect grade point averages in Deven Wilson (4.00), Leah Taylor (4.00) and Lindsey Feigl (4.00). Joining the trio on the list of All-America Scholar Athletes are Becca Williams (3.525), Casey Vincent (3.60), Kayla Wade (3.555), Kelsey Dixon (3.575), Kenzi Tate (3.685), Lauren Smith (3.495), Morgan Lewis (3.575) and Sam McClure (3.75).

The membership category with the most participating institutions this year proved to be Division I with 160.
