FPN NCAA DI Softball Players of the Week 4-4-2017

Fastpitch News has released its April 4, 2017, NCAA DI Players of the week awards. All nominations will be considered and are due each Monday by 3:00 pm eastern time. Please submit to rankings@fastpitchnews.com for review.

Emily Clark

Ohio State
Clark put up eye-popping numbers in four Ohio State wins last week. Consider she hit .875 (7-for-8) with two home runs, one double, 11 RBI and seven runs scored. Her on-base percentage of .917 and slugging of 1.750 were exceptional as well. Clark successfully reached base in 10 straight plate appearances to finish the week.

Kendyl Lindaman (Minnesota): Compiled a .500 batting average with a .700 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage. One the week she hit three home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored. Lindaman homered twice (the second a grand slam) in the fifth inning of Friday’s series opener against Illinois.

Carlee Wallace (Auburn): Wallace played a big role in the sweep of Georgia this past week. The Alpine, Ca. native went 7-for-11 which was good for a .636 average over the three games. Wallace added four RBI and four runs off of a double, triple and home run.

Jordan Dixon

Marshall
Dixon posted a perfect 3-0 week with 24 strikeouts in four appearances. The Edmond, Ok. native began the week with a shutdown effort against Morehead State, striking out 10 in a five-inning no-hitter. Dixon followed up with a pair of complete-game shutouts over C-USA foe Southern Miss. In the series finale, Dixon recorded her 1,000th career strikeout to become the first player in program history to reach the milestone.

Haley Chambers-Book (SIUE): Chambers-Book took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of the first game with UT Martin. She recorded a pair of shutouts last week and did not give up an earned run. She threw a four-hit shutout on the road against Southern Illinois. She struck out 20 batters in 16.2 innings. Chambers-Book collected her 14th and 15th win of the season.

Maggie Balint (Oregon): In four games this past week Balint had three wins and one save. She did all of that with throwing just 11 innings for the Ducks. In those 11 innings, she struck out 17 and only allowed four hits. Balint also did not surrender any earned runs on the week.
