FPN NCAA DII Softball Players of the Week 4-18-2017

Stevie Baird
Lee University
Baird slugged two grand slams to lead the Lee softball team to a series sweep over Christian Brothers. The sophomore ended up 6-for-11 on the week with the two home runs, nine RBI and a double. On the week she batted .545.
Taylor Brandts
Uva-Wise
Junior right-hander Taylor Brandts was unhittable this past weekend inside the circle for UVa-Wise, tossing two no-hitters in consecutive starts. This is her second straight FPN POW award. She struck out 14 batters and gave up just two walks and two hit by pitches in 12 innings of work. Brandts has not given up a run this month – since March 29 – and thrown 47 consecutive innings of scoreless ball.
