Juarez announced less than two weeks ago she was leaving Arizona State. She is the second pitcher to transfer to Oklahoma this off-season; Shannon Saile also transferred in from FIU this summer. Juarez will join Saile and veteran juniors Mariah Lopez and Parker Conrad, as well as freshman Brooke Vestal.
You can listen to Sooners Head Coach Patty Gasso discuss her pitching staff and Oklahoma 2019 outlook from her recent appearance on “In The Circle“.
Juarez earned first-team All-American honors during the 2018 season for Arizona State. She posted a 1.21 overall ERA through more than 224 innings of work in the circle. Juarez collected 305 strikeouts and a 26-6 overall record. In addition to her All-American honor, Juarez was also named to the All-Pac 12 and All-Region first teams and was as a top ten finalist nod for the National Player of the Year award as Juarez led the Sun Devils to the Women’s College World Series.
