Kasey Fagan Hired to Be Assistant at Liberty
Liberty’s Head Coach Dot Richardson announced on Thursday that she has hired former SEC Softball player Kasey Fagan to her staff.
Fagan was a graduate assistant at Auburn the last two seasons at Auburn as the Tigers made the trip to the 2016 Women’s College World Series losing to Oklahoma in the National Championship series.
Prior to going to grad school at Auburn to coach, Fagan played in the SEC with Florida (2011-2012) and Arkansas (2014-2015).
Fagan came over to Arkansas after her career at Florida ended up abruptly in 2012. On the eve of the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Kasey along with her sister Sami and Cheyenne Coyle were dismissed by Gators Head Coach Tim Walton for unspecified reasons.
Kasey Fagan would have a great career at Arkansas at Arkansas being named a 2014 NFCA All-South Region second team selection hitting .306 with nine homers and 46 RBI. Fagan finished her time at Arkansas with a .313 career batting average, which was ranked fourth in program history at the time of career ending at Arkansas.
Kasey’s younger sisters, Sami (Florida, 2012; Missouri, 2014-16) and Haley (Auburn, 2014-17) both played softball in the SEC and are currently teammates on the Akron Racers in the NPF. Her father Her father, Kevin Fagan, played for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL from 1986-93, winning two Super Bowl titles (88,89).
Fagan joins a Liberty program that coming off its best season in school history going 46-24, winning first regular season Big South Championship since 2007 and claiming first ever National Invitational Softball Championship which was held at Liberty Softball Stadium.
