East Lansing, Mich. – – Michigan State head softball coach Jacquie Joseph has announced her team’s 2013 fall schedule. MSU will host six fall games at Secchia Stadium.

The Spartans have three fall dates, on consecutive weeks beginning Sept. 22. MSU’s first doubleheader will be against Detroit on Sept. 22, with the first pitch at 1 p.m. Lansing Community College will come to the MSU campus on Sunday, Sept. 29 for a doubleheader. Saturday, Oct. 5 features a pair of games against different opponents – MSU welcomes Kalamazoo Valley Community College For a 11 am game, and hosts Wayne State in the nightcap at 3 p.m.

The team has already begun its fall practice sessions, and is already looking forward to its contests later this month.

“It’s early in our fall practices, but I’m happy with what I am seeing so far,” said Joseph. “These fall practices we have are critical, particularly for the seven new players we’re bringing in. It’s our first chance to work together as a team, and it’s important in our development. The games will give us a good benchmark to see where we are, and the areas we’ll focus on prior to our spring season.”

Admission to all fall softball games at Secchia Stadium is free of charge.
