Miranda Kramer Hired as Assistant at Syracuse

Miranda Kramer time at Syracuse will continue as Head Coach Mike Bosch announced on Friday that Kramer will continue with the program as a full-time assistant.

Kramer served as a volunteer assistant in 2017 for the most helping out with the Orange pitching staff which she will continue to be responsible for moving forward. Kramer replaces Krystyn Sandberg on the staff.

One of the key players Kramer will be working with is Alexa Romero who in her freshman season in 2017 earned a spot on the All-ACC Freshman team becoming the first player in program history to earn the accolade.

Kramer had a great career at Western Kentucky as Kramer was the first-ever NFCA First-Team All-American in program history in her senior season in 2015. Kramer led the nation in strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings pitched and hits allowed per seven innings, while ranking second in shutouts. Kramer collected many awards, including a nomination as a top-26 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year, Two-time Conference USA MVP and three-time All-Conference honoree. Kramer served as a student assistant at Western Kentucky in 2016 before coming over to Syracuse.

Kramer was the 6th overall pick in the 2015 NPF Draft by the Pennsylvania Rebellion where Kramer played for two seasons. Kramer signed on with the Scrap Yard Dawgs following the 2016 season and the folding of the Rebellion franchise. Kramer currently pitching with the Scrap Yard Dawgs this season.

Syracuse is coming off a season where the Orange went 31-19 which was the first 30 win season since 2012 when Orange won 43 games. 2012 was also the last time Syracuse made the NCAA Tournament as a member of the Big East.
