Fastpitch News has released its January 30, 2017, Players of the week awards for the NJCAA. This is the first week of the awards. Moving forward we do except weekly nominations. Claudia Jones had a great start to the start of her season at the JUCO Kickoff Classic in Clearwater, FL. On the weekend, Jones had a team-high .750 batting average (6-for-8) while scoring five runs and driving in four. An interesting fact is that she could face this week’s Pitcher of the Week this Thursday.

State College Florida
Carlee Lucas appeared in three games for State College of Florida (SCF), starting two of those games at the 2017 JUCO kickoff Classic. On the weekend she posted at 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA. She also racked up 16 strikeouts over 17 innings of work. She helped SCF to their 6-0 record at the event.
