Pacific Softball: Tiger Softball Named NFCA Division I All-Academic Team

Louisville, Ken. – With the release of the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete awards on Monday, October 7, the Pacific softball team was one of the most well represented in the country as nine of its student-athletes garnered the top academic award. For the 2012-13 academic year, Megan Allen, Sara Anderson, Nikki Armagost, Megan Foglesong, Gabby Goyette, Melanie Habib, Megan Hom, Alexi Johnson, and Amy Moore were honored for their work in the classroom. Tigers represented half of the recipients from the Big West as Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton and Hawai’i placed nine on the awards list between the three teams.

In addition to the individual awards, the Tigers as a team were honored for their work in the classroom as Pacific posted a team GPA of 3.25. For their work the team was named a NFCA Division I All-Academic Team.
The award was bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year. The honor marks the second component of the Association’s academic award program.
