EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP softball team opens its fall schedule this weekend when they take on NM State on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Las Cruces. N.M. The Miners will then face the El Paso Community College softball team on Oct. 6 at Helen of Troy Softball Complex. Admission will be free to all fans for both series.
The Miners will face the Aggies in a doubleheader with game one starting at 11 a.m. MT (game two is slated for a 1 p.m. start).
“I’m excited to see the girls on the field,” first-year head coach Tobin Echo-Hawk said. “They’ve been working hard and we’re going to put a bunch of different people at different positions to see what they do and mix things up. It’s a time for us to see what they’re capable of doing in a game situation when it’s not just practice and it’s more of a competitive environment.”
Game one of UTEP’s series against EPCC will start at noon, while game two is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
