Game 3: Florida vs. Georgia

The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the second inning after a Cortni Emanuel single and stolen base followed by a Justice Milz towering 2-run home run over the left center field wall. Aleshia Ocasio got the start in the circle for the Gators.

The Gators answered back in the bottom of the first after a misplayed ground ball to first led to a single and a walk to load the bases, off of Georgia starting pitcher Mary Wilson Avant. Jordan Matthews hit a towering fly ball that landed on the warning track to score two runs. Next, Aleshia Ocasio helped her own cause and belted a three-run home run to make the score 5-3.

In the bottom of the second, Wilson Avant got in more trouble and found herself in a similar bases loaded jam. After another run crossed the plate, Georgia went to the bullpen and made a pitching change, bringing in Kylie Bass who collected the last out of the inning and limiting major damage. 6-2 Florida after two complete innings of play.

In the top of the third, Georgia earned a run back on an Alyssa DiCarlo solo home run cutting the Gator lead to 6-3.

Hannah Adams got things going for the Gators in the bottom of the third with a one-out single up the middle. Jaimie Hoover was hit by a pitch with two outs to put Florida runners on first and second. But the momentum would stop there as Bass got Lorenz to fly out to end the inning.

In the bottom of the fourth with two outs and a runner on third, Gator Head Coach Tim Walton called for a pinch hitter. Jordan Roberts stepped up to the plate and crushed a home run over the left center field wall, increasing the Gators lead to 8-3.

Georgia threatened again in the top of the fifth but was unable to push any runs across. Adams led off the bottom of the fifth for Florida with a solo home run pushing the score in their favor 9-3.
