Fastpitch News has released its March 7, 2017, Players of the week awards for the NJCAA. All nominations will be considered and are due each Monday by 3:00 pm eastern time. Please submit to rankings@fastpitchnews.com for review.
Player of the Week
Lindsey Vasquez
East Texas Baptist
Lindsey Vasquez may not have had the eye-popping power numbers we general find here, but she was one tough out this past week. Vasquez went 7-10 in three games this past week for a .700 average with three doubles and five runs. Those are great numbers for your lead-off.
Pitcher of the Week
Savannah Settle
Louisiana College
Savannah Settle had a strong weekend pitching in two games and winning both. In the 14 innings she threw she posted 16 strikeouts to just two walks. Settle allowed just six hits and one earned run in the two games. On the season she is now 6-2 with a 1.14 ERA and 56 strikeouts.
