Going 1-3 with a walk, Aubrie Thomas made an impact with one swing of her bat. A triple in the bottom of the second inning brought her team within one of tieing the game, a game they go on to win.
Ally Melgar (2020)
Athletics – Mercado/Quinn 2019 (Uncommitted)
Melgar was the second pitcher for the Athletics on Tuesday and earned the win. In her 3.2 innings pitched, she gave up six hits, zero runs and struck out two. She did not allow a walk and was able to secure a 7-5 win.
Amanda Kondo (2020)
Cal Nuggets Woods (Cal)
Amanda Kondo sent a two-run homer over the left-center fence in the top of the sixth. With their bracket game tied 1-1, Kondo was responsible for the Nuggets taking a 3-1 lead. She went 2-3 on the day.
Mariana Torres (2020)
Bombers 16 Gold Jones (Texas A&M)
Mariana Torres shined in the sixth inning both at the plate and in the field. Taking advantage of an error after a hard-hit ball to second, she tallied three RBI’s to help extend her teams lead to 4-1. At the end of the sixth, in the field, Torres caught a tough pop fly on the grass behind short and then turned a double play picking off the runner at third.
Ashley Vallejo (2020)
Bombers 16 Gold Jones (McNeese)
Ashley Vallejo to shined going all seven innings for the Bombers. Throwing a total of 70 pitches, she showed her strength and consistency by striking out four and only giving up two runs. She also displayed a great amount of composure, something we love to see in young pitchers.
