Great Pitching Leads Akron Racers Past Chicago Bandits 4-0

Akron, OH – May 29, 2014 – A superb effort by Rachele Fico lifted the Akron Racers to a 4-0 win in seven innings over Chicago Bandits on Friday at Akron, OH.

Rachele pitched lights out for Akron Racers. Chicago Bandits managed just one hit off of the Akron Racers’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven during her seven innings of work.

The Akron Racers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Charlotte Morgan, who went 3-3 against Chicago Bandits’ pitching. She singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Ellen Renfroe took the loss for the Chicago Bandits. She lasted just 2 2/3 innings struck out two, and allowed three runs.

Akron Racers stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Nerissa Myers, a solo home run by Jessica Garcia, and an RBI single by Charlotte Morgan.
