Michelle Moultrie went 2-3, sparking USA Women’s National Team to a 5-0 victory in seven innings over Italy on Saturday at Azzano, Italy.
She doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Jolene Henderson put together a nice outing. Henderson held Italy hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.
Debra Moretto couldn’t get it done in the circle for Italy, taking a loss. She lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as USA Women’s National Team scored two runs on a two-run double by Moultrie.
USA Women’s National Team added two more runs in the bottom of the third. A ground out scored Raven Chavanne to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Kellie Fox‘s single.
