A single, scoring GiOnna DiSalvatore gave USSSA Pride the lead in the sixth inning, and USSSA Pride hung on to beat PA Rebellion 5-2 on Friday.
Bridgette paced USSSA Pride at the plate. Bridgette went 1-2, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the sixth inning.
Madison Shipman went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for USSSA Pride. She singled in the second, fifth, and sixth innings.
Chelsea Thomas looked sharp on the rubber. PA Rebellion managed just three hits off of the USSSA Pride’s pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out three during her 5 2/3 innings of work.
Dallas Escobedo was the game’s losing pitcher. She lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
PA Rebellion jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by Taylor Edwards, bringing home Jenn Salling started the inning off.
USSSA Pride went up for good in the sixth, scoring three runs on two singles.
One run in the bottom of the seventh helped PA Rebellion close its deficit to 4-2. An RBI single by Jenn fueled PA Rebellion’s comeback. Jordan Taylor ended the game by getting Bianca Mejia to fly out.
