ROSEMONT, Ill. – February 6, 2014 – Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore announced today that the team has re-signed both Brittany Cervantes and Danielle Zymkowitz for the upcoming 2014 season.

Both players originally joined the Bandits by way of open tryouts, Zymkowitz in 2011 and Cervantes in 2012, and both have continued to show their versatility on the softball field throughout their careers.

Cervantes, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, has been called upon to play multiple positions in both the infield and outfield, but spent the majority of the 2013 season in right field. The myth of the sophomore slump certainly didn’t affect Cervantes at the plate as she posted career highs all across the board. She finished the 2013 season with a .255 batting average including six homeruns and 17 RBIs as well as an on-base percentage of .382.

After falling to the USSSA Pride in last year’s Championship game, Cervantes is looking forward to getting the opportunity to compete for a Bandits championship this season.
