In the Circle: Weekend Recap, Mark Allister Talks DII and Book and Justin McLeod

On the latest edition of In The Circle, Eric and Victor chat about the major takeaways from this weekend including Oregon’s sweep at Washington as well as a new team to pencil into host regionals according to Mr. Lopez. The guys also share their thoughts on Missouri adding games to ensure they remain eligible for selection for the tournament.

Victor is then joined by Mark Allister who recently wrote an article on Fastpitch News about DII softball and will release a new book about college softball in 2018. Mark shares with us some contrasts between two of the teams he wrote about in his feature. He also chats about an intriguing possibility as to why more elite players are going to DII. Mark also shares with us some details about his upcoming book Turn and Look: Women’s College Softball Is Crushing It.

Next, Victor welcomes back Justin McLeod from Justin’s World of Softball to break down who are some of the teams to beat heading into the postseason. He tells us what conference might not have as many national championship contenders as some might believe. Justin also provides thoughts on the players selected in this year’s NPF Draft plus some continuing issues he saw during the evening.
