Elevate Your Hitting Game with The Backspin Tee

A product that is making itself known among the baseball and softball world is the Backspin Tee. Who do people pay attention to when it comes to offense? Think about it for a minute. The most known offensive players in the softball world are the ones who hit for power. It’s easier to remember the player who hit the home run versus the player who hit a single. Both are equally important but up and coming softball players want to and are eager to hit for power.

In order to hit a ball far, the hitter needs to make contact with the middle or the bottom half of the ball. You’ve probably heard hitting coaches stress the importance of hitting the bottom half of the ball, especially when the hitter is taking reps off a tee. A standard tee has the ball sitting on top of it with the bottom of the ball in contact with the tee. Even if the hitter is focused on making contact with the middle and bottom half of the ball, in the back of their mind they are more than likely worried about making contact with the tee.

The Backspin Tee is designed for hitters to focus on the middle and bottom half of the ball. The ball hangs from the tee by the top half of the ball. By taking the top half visual of the ball away, this allows the hitter to focus on the area most stressed by the hitting coach. When a bat makes contact with the middle or bottom half of the ball, backspin is created. By creating backspin, the ball will travel through the air at a higher angle which will result in the ball traveling a further distance. How many home runs are hit with someone hits the top of the ball? Not many.

Over the years the Backspin Tee has made its way into the MLB league and is used by several softball players in the NPF. The Backspin Tee improves hitters hand-eye coordination and stresses making contact with the correct part of the ball – the middle and bottom half. Too much bottom half will result in pop-ups, so hitters using the back spin tee are instructed to make contact with the middle of the ball as it hangs from midair.

The Backspin Tee is a great tool and is worth the investment. It removes the frustration and fear of making contact with a standard tee and trains hitters to identify the correct portion of the ball to hit in order to produce maximum distance. The Backspin Tee will maximize a hitter’s ability to hit line drives and the long ball. It will also limit a hitter making contact with the top of the ball resulting in ground balls. The Backspin Tee is worth the investment especially for those players who are eager to maximize their distance hits and take their game to the next level.
