Player of the Week

Natalie Lalich

University of Indianapolis

Natalie Lalich had a great week that included four home runs and 16 RBI. Lalich topped the team in batting average (.565), on-base percentage (.643) and slugging (1.174) while compiling six extra-base hits, five walks and just one strikeout in 28 plate appearances.

Pitcher of the Week

Michelle Sorensen

Henderson State

Michelle Sorensen threw her fourth no-hitter of her career in a 9-inning 1-0 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma. Sorensen’s no-hitter was the 22nd ever in the Great American Conference history. The four career no-hitters are the most by an individual in GAC history. The extraordinary effort was also the first extra-innings no-hitter in league history. Sorensen struck out 13 batters and did not walk a SOSU hitter. In the two games against Southeastern, Sorensen pitched 16 innings, struck out 19 batters, surrendered just three hits and did not allow an earned run in picking up her 10th win of the year.
