Kentucky wins SEC home opener Video Interviews

The Kentucky Wildcats (20-6, 2-2) defeated the visiting Arkansas Razorbacks (22-7, 2-5) 2-1 on Friday night at John Cropp Stadium.

In a game that lasted an hour and 22 minutes, both teams displayed stellar defense and excellent pitching. Meagan Prince improved to 9-3 on the year. She gave up a solo home run to Tori Cooper in the top of the second and only gave up three hits after that. The senior struck out six and worked out of several jams, stranding eight Razorbacks on base.

Autumn Storms fell to 10-5 on the year for Arkansas. The freshman allowed a leadoff home run to Katie Reed. She allowed a total of four hits, two earned runs and one walk while striking out six.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. ET.
