Akron Racers tops PA Rebellion in back-and-forth affair, 6-3

Akron Racers and PA Rebellion traded the lead four times on Tuesday, but Akron Racers ended up on top with a 6-3 win in seven innings over PA Rebellion.

Akron Racers took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. Akron Racers scored on an RBI single by Nerissa Myers off Dallas Escobedo, scoring Ayumi Karino.

Myers racked up two RBIs on two hits for Akron Racers.

Lisa Norris struck out six hitters en route to the Akron Racers win. Norris allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks over seven innings.

It was a good day at the plate for PA Rebellion’s Briana Hamilton. Hamilton went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Escobedo couldn’t get it done on the rubber for PA Rebellion, taking a loss. She lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

Akron Racers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Akron Racers got a spark in the form of a Karino double, before before Jessica Garciasingled, plating Karino.

PA Rebellion answered Akron Racers’ top inning with two runs of its own in the first. PA Rebellion scored on a two-run home run by Courtney Liddle.
