Akron Racers and PA Rebellion passed the lead back and forth five times on Friday at Akron, OH, but in the end Akron Racers pulled out a 6-3 win in seven innings over PA Rebellion.
Akron Racers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. Akron Racers scored on a home run by Nerissa Myers off Dallas Escobedo, scoring Taylor Schlopy, Jill Barrett and Ayumi Karino.
Nerissa racked up four RBIs on two hits for Akron Racers.
Rachele Fico recorded the win for Akron Racers. She allowed three runs over seven innings. She struck out six, walked three and surrendered nine hits.
Dallas couldn’t get it done in the circle for PA Rebellion, taking a loss. She allowed six runs in 6 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
The top of the third saw PA Rebellion take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Courtney Liddle, bringing home Lauren Lappin started the inning off.
