Brittany Cervantes leads Chicago Bandits to 6-4 win over USSSA Pride

Saturday was a great day for Brittany Cervantes, as she hit two home runs to carry Chicago Bandits to a 6-4 victory over USSSA Pride at Round Rock, TX in seven innings.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with five lead changes.

Chicago Bandits finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. Chicago Bandits went up for good on a two-run home run by Brittany off Chelsea Thomas, scoring Kristen Butler.

Chicago Bandits hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Chicago Bandits came when Tammy Williams homered in the second inning and Brittany homered in the second and seventh innings.

Michelle Gascoigne got the win for Chicago Bandits. She allowed one run over four innings. She struck out four, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Chicago Bandits was sparked by Brittany and Tammy, who teamed up for six hits and four RBIs.

Chelsea took the loss for USSSA Pride. She lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two runs.

USSSA Pride jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by Andrea Duran, plating Caitlin Lowe started the inning off.

Chicago Bandits scored four runs in the second, keyed by a solo home run off the bat of Brittany.
