Chicago Bandits takes early lead on single, holds on for 6-3 win over PA Rebellion

Chicago Bandits built an early lead against PA Rebellion, scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-3 win on Sunday at Rosemont, IL.

Chicago Bandits scored in the first on an RBI single by Megan Wiggins and a two-run single by Tammy Williams.

Wiggins had a hot bat for Chicago Bandits. Wiggins went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs.

Andrea Williamson struck out six, paving the way for a Chicago Bandits win. Williamson allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks over six innings.

Briana Hamilton had a hot bat for PA Rebellion. Briana Hamilton went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Dallas Escobedo was charged with the loss. She lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

Chicago Bandits tallied one run in each of the third, fifth and sixth. In the third, Chicago Bandits scored on a sacrifice fly by Brittany Cervantes, scoring Wiggins.

Two runs in the top of the fourth helped PA Rebellion close its deficit to 4-2. A passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Jenn Salling triggered PA Rebellion’s comeback. Chicago Bandits stopped the rally after Williamson got Angeline Quiocho to fly out.

One run in the top of the fifth helped PA Rebellion close its deficit to 4-3. A solo home run by Briana Hamilton gave PA Rebellion life. Finally, Williamson got Bianca Mejia to strike out to end the threat.
