Errors proved to be costly for the Dominican Republic. They gave up three runs on three hits and two errors to drop a 3-2 game to Italy.
Strong pitching from team Italy’s Greta Cecchetti helped the cause. Cecchetti went all seven innings giving up three hits and two runs. She also posted 10 strikeouts and no walks.
