Jill Barrett gives Akron Racers late push to beat PA Rebellion, 5-3

Jill Barrett drove in the go-ahead run to give Akron Racers the lead in the seventh inning, as Akron Racers hung on to beat PA Rebellion 5-3 on Thursday.

Ashley Thomas singled to get on base in the seventh. She then went from first to second on a groundout by Ayumi Karino.

Barrett racked up two RBIs on two hits for Akron Racers.

Courtney Liddle reached base three times in the game for PA Rebellion. She scored one run and had one RBI. She homered in the fifth inning.

Hannah Campbell got the win in relief for Akron Racers. Campbell pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed one run.

Dallas Escobedo was charged with the loss. She lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The top of the third saw Akron Racers take an early lead, 3-0. Karino singled to start things off before Barrett tripled, scoring Karino. The scoreboard lit up again for Akron Racers when Barrett scored on an RBI single by Charlotte Morgan and Myers scored on a sacrifice fly by Jessica Garcia.

PA Rebellion got one-run boosts in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, PA Rebellion scored on an RBI single by Brittney Lindley, bringing home Briana Hamilton.
