Keilani Ricketts makes 2 runs hold up for USSSA Pride in 2-1 win over Chicago Bandits

USSSA Pride starter Keilani Ricketts doesn’t need much run-support when she is on the rubber and she showed it on Saturday at Kissimmee, FL against Chicago Bandits. Seven strong innings by Ricketts spurred USSSA Pride to a 2-1 victory over Chicago Bandits in seven innings.

Kelly Kretschman pushed USSSA Pride ahead, in the seventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Caitlin Lowe singled to get on base in the seventh. She then went from second to third on a groundout by Andrea Duran.

USSSA Pride held off Chicago Bandits, as Chicago Bandits was unable to overcome a three-run seventh inning deficit.

Still, Chicago Bandits couldn’t catch USSSA Pride.

Monica Abbott ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out nine, and allowed two runs.

The lone run of the game for Chicago Bandits crossed the plate in the seventh inning on a solo home run by Kristen Butler.
