Monica Abbott’s pitching leads Chicago Bandits past USSSA Pride 7-0

Monica Abbott held USSSA Pride scoreless for seven innings to boost Chicago Bandits to a 7-0 victory.

Monica allowed four hits, one walk and struck out seven.

Chicago Bandits’ bats came to life in the fifth inning. Chicago Bandits’ bats caught fire leading to four runs.

Brittany Cervantes had two extra-base hits for Chicago Bandits. She singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and fifth innings.

Chicago Bandits was sparked by Kristen Butler and Brittany, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.

Keilani Ricketts ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

Chicago Bandits added two more runs in the bottom of the second. A ground out scored Jessica Bracamonte to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Emily Allard‘s double, bringing home Kaylyn Castillo.
