PA Rebellion get on top of Akron Racers early but can’t hang on in 7-3 loss

PA Rebellion built an early edge on Monday, but Akron Racers roared back to steal a 7-3 victory at Akron, OH.

A two-run triple by Jessica Garcia gave Akron Racers the lead in the fifth inning.

Nerissa Myers racked up two RBIs on two hits for Akron Racers. She homered in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Briana Hamilton racked up two RBIs on one hit for PA Rebellion. She homered in the second inning.

Lisa Norris recorded the win for Akron Racers. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Norris struck out four, walked three and gave up six hits.

Sarah Pauly couldn’t get it done on the rubber for PA Rebellion, taking a loss. She lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The bottom of the first saw Akron Racers take an early lead, 1-0. A solo blast by Myers started the inning off.

Akron Racers never trailed after scoring six runs in the fifth on a two-run home run by Taylor Schlopy, two singles, and a two-run triple by Garcia.
