Tatum Edwards’s pitching leads PA Rebellion past Akron Racers 3-2

Tatum Edwards kept Akron Racers off the board during her 5 1/3 innings of work and PA Rebellion beat Akron Racers, 3-2.

Edwards allowed four hits, three walks and struck out four.

PA Rebellion would not relinquish the lead as Akron Racers was unable to weather a three-run sixth inning deficit.

Akron Racers scored two runs in the seventh on a two-run single by Nerissa Myers. Despite its efforts, Akron Racers couldn’t get over the hump.

Mandy Ogle had a hot bat for PA Rebellion. Ogle went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Alison Owen took the loss for Akron Racers. She lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The lead stayed with PA Rebellion after the fourth, when it scored two runs on two singles.
