USSSA Pride jumps on Akron Racers early and coasts to 10-1 win

USSSA Pride jumped out to an early lead on Akron Racers and captured a 10-1 victory on Monday at Dallas, TX.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed USSSA Pride to put the game away early.

A two-run home run by Kristyn Sandberg during the second inning helped USSSA Pride put some runs on the board early.

Kristyn racked up two RBIs on one hit for USSSA Pride.

Akron Racers couldn’t get anything going as long as Keilani Ricketts was pitching. Akron Racers managed just one hit off of Ricketts, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during her three innings of work.

Nerissa Myers reached base two times. She scored one run and had one RBI. She homered in the third inning.

Cat Osterman got the win for USSSA Pride. She allowed one run over four innings. Cat struck out five, walked one and gave up three hits.

Rachele Fico took the loss for Akron Racers. She allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.

After a quick strike from Akron Racers, USSSA Pride responded with four runs in the third. USSSA Pride scored on a two-run double by Bridgette DelPonte and a two-run home run by Amanda Kamekona.

USSSA Pride added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Brejae Washington‘s single got things going, bringing home Madison Shipman.
