USSSA Pride offense too much for Akron Racers in 12-2 rout

USSSA Pride shut the door early on Akron Racers, capturing a 12-2 victory on Friday at Orlando, FL.

With nine runs in the first three innings, USSSA Pride left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by GiOnna DiSalvatore during the first inning and an RBI single byNatasha Watley, a three-run double by Madison Shipman, an RBI double byAndrea Duran, and an RBI double by Bridgette DelPonte in the second inning supplied the early offense for USSSA Pride.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with four lead changes.

Duran racked up three RBIs on three hits for USSSA Pride.

Blaire Luna brought the heat against Akron Racers during her outing. Luna held Akron Racers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Cat Osterman got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over four innings. Osterman struck out six, walked two and gave up three hits.

Alison Owen lasted 1 1/3 innings in the circle for Akron Racers before the call to the bullpen. Owen gave up five hits and four runs.
