In the Circle: Deiros Talks FGCU Snub and Regional Previews
On this edition of In The Circle, Eric Lopez talks with Florida Gulf Coast’s Head Coach David Deiros about his team getting left out of the NCAA Tournament despite winning 39 games and having an RPI of 38.
Deiros takes us through watching the selection show and his reaction to not getting in. What can be done if anything to prevent this from happening in the future? It is the second consecutive season the A-SUN received just one bid despite, as a conference, being a top six conference based on RPI. The Big Ten is ranked below the A-sun, yet they got five teams into the field of 64.
Eric and Victor then preview the DI regional action this weekend and who may be on upset alert. Victor also previews the super regionals in DII including Saint Leo hosting Alabama-Huntsville where Victor is at and covering.
