BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference unveiled its seventh annual Preseason All-SEC team to highlight the upcoming season of SEC softball.
Alabama and Georgia led all schools with three selections, followed by Auburn, Florida and Tennessee with three each. Kentucky, LSU and Texas A&M had one selection each.
Alabama’s Jackie Traina and Auburn’s Morgan Estell are both making their third consecutive appearance on the preseason All-SEC, while Kaila Hunt, Alabama (2013), Madison Shipman, Tennessee (2013) and Ellen Renfroe, Tennessee (2012) are each making their second appearance.
The Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC Team consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each SEC head softball coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one utility/DP player. No ties were broken.
In a class-by-class breakdown, the 2014 team consists of five seniors, four juniors and six sophomores. A complete list of the 2014 SEC Softball Coaches Preseason All-SEC team follows:
