BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference unveiled its eighth annual Preseason All-SEC Team to highlight the upcoming season of SEC softball.
Auburn and Georgia led all schools with three selections each. Florida, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri have two representatives apiece on the squad, while Alabama and Tennessee both had one player named to the team.
Making their second appearance on the preseason team are Alabama’s Haylie McCleney, Auburn’s Emily Carosone, Florida’s Kelsey Stewart, Georgia’s Paige Wilson, Kentucky’s Griffin Joiner and LSU’s A.J. Andrews.
The Preseason All-SEC Softball Team is voted on by the league’s head coaches and consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each SEC head coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility. No ties were broken.
In a class-by-class breakdown, the 2015 team consists of five seniors, eight juniors and three sophomores.
