- No.1: Kennesaw State
- No. 2: Florida Gulf Coast (FGCU)
- No. 3: USC Upstate
- No. 4: Lipscomb
- No. 5: Jacksonville
- No. 6: Stetson
Favorite – Kennesaw State
The Owls won the regular season title going 14-3. The ended the season with a three-game lead over FGCU (12-6). Conference-leading pitcher Alley Cutting leads the Owls as they also look to win the conference tournament.
Darkhorse– Lipscomb
Lipscomb comes in as No. 4 seed. They are talented enough to win this Tournament. The Bison have wins this season over Ole Miss, Houston, and Boston College. They will need a deep run, if not win the tournament if they want to make the NCAA field.
NCAA Tournament Outlook- No Locks
The A-Sun conference currently ranks as the sixth best conference in the nation. But has no locks, outside of the automatic bid, for NCAA Tournament. Three teams have a shot at making the tournament if they do not win the conference tournament.
- FGCU- 33 RPI
- Kennesaw State – 41 RPI
- Lipscomb- 52 RPI
FGCU may be the only team that does not have to win the automatic bid to make the NCAA Tournament. It would be in all three of the teams best interest if they at least made the championship game. The rest of field in USC Upstate, Jacksonville and Stetson must win the A-SUN Tournament to make the NCAA tournament. This is USC Upstate’s last A-SUN Tournament as they will move on to the Big South.
Prediction: The A-SUN will end up with two teams in the NCAA Tournament with Florida Gulf Coast and Kennesaw State getting in. We are picking FGCU to win the A-SUN Tournament.
